The Need for a Proof-based Faith

The Need for a Proof-based Faith

How can we know that there’s a God and that the Bible is a book of Truth? I mean, to think that there is someone looking out for us (who is the creator of the universe) and is involved in our growth and work for Him, and who has prepared a great afterlife for us is an incredible thought.

But based on proofs, it is the only fully intelligent thought.

And because of accepting those proofs and having faith that living by the Bible is the best and truest way to go, the good internal and external results are further proof that it is all true. Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen.” That is, the fact that when putting our faith in God and the Bible results in creating a good, secure, confident, peaceful and inspired feeling inside of us is further proof that we’ve made the right decision in our experiment in how to think and live. And are those the results that people are experiencing by approaching life the secular way and believing how the “mainstream” education institutions and media are explaining existence?

And regarding “belief”, we don’t have to be relegated to a lucky gamble or a feeling as to what the truth is, because there is proof. And this proof goes to the nth degree in science, logic, statistics, pragmatism and experience … leaving no stone unturned.

This is why an intelligent person needs proof … because it is proof that justifies faith. Unanswered or avoided skeleton questions in our logic closet will just undermine our faith and prevent us from having a super strong foundation. They also cause people to question specific things in the Bible. That’s why they need to know why the Bible is infallible.

Proof can also be the basis for proving God and the Bible to skeptics and those who have attempted to resolve their death and style of living through the mythical and semi-dysfunctional systems of the mainstream culture and institutions. Or perhaps they are avoiding this issue as they are caught up in the many distractions in life.

The Dialogue of our Life (and when it is better to be alone)

March 9, 2013

When we’re alone, we either dialogue with our “flesh” and subconscious or we dialogue with a perfect God (via the Holy Spirit. That is assuming that we’ve developed the ability to hear the Holy Spirit*.)

When we’re with people, we either dialogue with their imperfections or with them channeling the Holy Spirit. If with the Holy Spirit, it is utterly valuable to dialogue with a unique source point of the Holy Spirit. If with their imperfections, and they aren’t open to our Holy Spirit feedback to help them grow, it is better to be alone. To do otherwise would be to frustrate the Holy Spirit wanting to reach them.

It is also good to recognize that when we subject ourselves to any form of media, we are in dialogue with it because we have emotional and intellectual reactions … whether voluntary or involuntary.

Proverbs 9:7-9, “Whoever corrects a mocker invites insult; whoever rebukes a wicked person incurs abuse. Do not rebuke a mocker or they will hate you; rebuke a wise person and they will love you. Instruct a wise person and they will be wiser still; teach a righteous person and they will add to their learning.”

Proverbs 21:9, “It is better to live on the edge of a roof, than to live in a house with a quarreling woman.”

Psalm 1:1-2, “Blessed is the person who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night.”
