The Dialogue of our Life (and when it is better to be alone)

March 9, 2013

When we’re alone, we either dialogue with our “flesh” and subconscious or we dialogue with a perfect God (via the Holy Spirit. That is assuming that we’ve developed the ability to hear the Holy Spirit*.)

When we’re with people, we either dialogue with their imperfections or with them channeling the Holy Spirit. If with the Holy Spirit, it is utterly valuable to dialogue with a unique source point of the Holy Spirit. If with their imperfections, and they aren’t open to our Holy Spirit feedback to help them grow, it is better to be alone. To do otherwise would be to frustrate the Holy Spirit wanting to reach them.

It is also good to recognize that when we subject ourselves to any form of media, we are in dialogue with it because we have emotional and intellectual reactions … whether voluntary or involuntary.

Proverbs 9:7-9, “Whoever corrects a mocker invites insult; whoever rebukes a wicked person incurs abuse. Do not rebuke a mocker or they will hate you; rebuke a wise person and they will love you. Instruct a wise person and they will be wiser still; teach a righteous person and they will add to their learning.”

Proverbs 21:9, “It is better to live on the edge of a roof, than to live in a house with a quarreling woman.”

Psalm 1:1-2, “Blessed is the person who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night.”
